The Stratus is a new and unique design by Song Wei, featuring a full 3 3/8 octaves, achieved as follows:
1) 2nd chamber maintains the dual slide-cover holes at the index finger position, but adds a thumbhole toincrease the range by one diatonic note.
2) 3rd chamber pinkie hole converted to a full diatonic note, as opposed to a standard Asian triple which uses this pinkie hole to play the half-tone between the 2nd and 3rd chambers. Thisincreases the range by a second diatonic note. A subhole is added at the 3rd chamber middle finger position to play the A#6.
3) The 3rd chamber index finger position features a dual-hole slide-cover configuration identical to the second chamber. Thisextends the range by a third diatonic note.
4) A thumbhole is added to the underside of the 3rd chamber, thusincreasing the range by a fourth diatonic note.

- Oak Leaf styling
- Fingering of the 2nd and 3rd chambers are identical. Both run from B (B flat with the subhole) to A.
- The Stratus is available in the bass key of C, as well as in alto F and G. A Triple AC Stratus will not be produced.
